Education in India & SEO as a viable career option

With its unending diversity and paradoxes, India never ceases to fascinate. And education in India is one of various other elements that have captured the attention of the world. While the United Nations is worried about the presence of a large number of illiterates, various other countries are amazed by the quality of some of the human resources that the Indian education system has produced.

India churns out technology trained graduates in scores every year and has a huge talent pool. India boasts of some of the best technical and management schools in the world. The quality and structure of the Indian education system is second to none in the world. The emphasis on mathematics and science enables Indian students to rub shoulders with the best minds in the world in numerous universities globally. In America, for example, Indian students outnumber their American counterparts in universities like Stanford, Cornell, and Columbia etc. when it comes to technology and engineering courses. This is the result of a very strong impetus imbibed in each student by the Indian education system, which prepares him to tackle every challenge analytically and in an organized matter, with optimum utilization of available resources.

The growth of the Indian economy in the recent past and the compulsion to sustain it is also forcing the Indian government to accelerate the process of developing all the branches of the Indian education system. Therefore, it would be very interesting to understand and analyze the various structures of education in India, its present condition and future developments.
The present education system in India mainly comprises of primary education, secondary education, senior secondary education and higher education. Elementary education consists of eight years of education. Each of secondary and senior secondary education consists of two years of education. Higher education in India starts after passing the higher secondary education or the 12th standard. Depending on the stream, doing graduation in India can take three to five years. Post graduate courses are generally of two to three years of duration. After completing post graduation, scope for doing research in various educational institutes also remains open.

When it comes to choosing the right career option after completing attaining professional degrees, they have a plethora of choice in various fields like software development, application development, engineering services, technology research, web Design and development etc. One such option can be Search Engine Optimization (SEO), which is gaining significant grounds not only in India, but worldwide, given the gigantic growth of internet based services and product promotion.

In a nutshell, a good SEO analyst can do wonders for an organization by using analytic skills to improve its online presence and make it a numero uno website on any popular web search. SEO has very bright future for someone if he has great analytic skills, because he has to research a lot to sculpt a strategy to beat tough competition on Google and Yahoo, and now Bing. Apart from that, he should possess excellent writing skills which would provide him a definite edge over others.

People often consider SEO as a technical or highly scientific thing, but it’s an art. It's an art of selecting right keywords for a website, it's an art of researching the competitors for those keywords, and it’s an art of defining right strategy for scaling gruesome competition for high rankings. He ought to be a right planner with a great marketing mind. He muss access the needs of website visitors and should provide right information and right tools to them. This will help the organization in attracting a lot of traffic to its website. Only an artist like an SEO professional can work on a website with his unique artistic flare that can ignite sales from any website and generate a high and significant Return on Investment (ROI).

Recent estimates states that Google search engine alone has indexed about 10 billion pages into its databases. Assuming that the other two search engines Yahoo and MSN has indexed just half of what Google has indexed, then this would amount to about 5 billion pages. So, the total number of Web Pages that has been indexed by the three major search engines is about 15 billion Web Pages. Every day new website business are designed and included in the World Wide Web. Obviously, every website owner would wish to see his website on the top 10 list of the search engine results page. With this being the situation you can imagine the kind of demand for SEO professionals is there and would prevail for a very long time to come.

With four simple truths as his framework, Charles Murray, the bestselling coauthor of The Bell Curve, sweeps away the hypocrisy, wishful thinking, and upside-down priorities that grip America’s educational establishment.

Ability varies. Children differ in their ability to learn academic material. Doing our best for every child requires, above all else, that we embrace that simplest of truths. America’s educational system does its best to ignore it.

Half of the children are below average. Many children cannot learn more than rudimentary reading and math. Real Education reviews what we know about the limits of what schools can do and the results of four decades of policies that require schools to divert huge resources to unattainable goals.

Too many people are going to college. Almost everyone should get training beyond high school, but the number of students who want, need, or can profit from four years of residential education at the college level is a fraction of the number of young people who are struggling to get a degree. We have set up a standard known as the BA, stripped it of its traditional content, and made it an artificial job qualification. Then we stigmatize everyone who doesn’t get one. For most of America’s young people, today’s college system is a punishing anachronism.

America’s future depends on how we educate the academically gifted. An elite already runs the country, whether we like it or not. Since everything we watch, hear, and read is produced by that elite, and since every business and government department is run by that elite, it is time to start thinking about the kind of education needed by the young people who will run the country. The task is not to give them more advanced technical training, but to give them an education that will make them into wiser adults; not to pamper them, but to hold their feet to the fire.

The good news is that change is not only possible but already happening. Real Education describes the technological and economic trends that are creating options for parents who want the right education for their children, teachers who want to be free to teach again, and young people who want to find something they love doing and learn how to do it well. These are the people for whom Real Education was written. It is they, not the politicians or the educational establishment, who will bring American schools back to reality.

Twenty-four years ago, Charles Murray’s Losing Ground changed the way the nation thought about welfare. Real Education is about to do the same thing for America’s schools.

Does Your Child Need Help In School?
Is Your School System Giving You the Run Around?

Dear Parents,
For more years than we collectively like to acknowledge, we have advocated for thousands of students who have struggled with learning.

In the past, as we empowered parents like you with information so you could better advocate for your children, we were prisoners to the normal formats available: advertising in local newspapers, placing articles in school newsletters (of course, those were only the articles approved by school authorities), setting up our kiosks at education fairs, and of course, word-of-mouth.

While we were successful at making a difference for many of your children, we always knew that there were many more parents who needed the assistance of an advocate to get the help they needed in the education arena.

As the Internet became a fixture in homes across the United States, we felt that the time had come for us to explore how to widen our ability to help you and your kids.

We know you will find the answers for many of your questions here, and that with your new understanding, you will be better able to advocate for your child's much-deserved educational needs. You are invited to join us in our new endeavors to assist you with your child’s educational challenges.

Your K12 Advocates - Ailsa and Bev

Keith Wisner, Boulder, CO said:

"My wife and I would like to express our thanks and appreciation for the work Ailsa Wonnacott has done on behalf of our 16 year old son. Our son is both bipolar and severely ADHD. Both conditions have created big social and academic challenges for him in high school. But, in consultation with Ailsa at our home and on the phone, and with her participation in our latest meeting at the school, we are very happy with the direction we are going.

Ailsa is knowledgeable in mental health issues, school district matters, and the rights and needs of people with disabilities. She is a great advocate for our son. She is professional and is empathetic to the challenges he faces. I wish we had met her a long time ago, but now that we have, we are happy to have her in our support network.

I couldn't recommend Ailsa more highly."

Have You Ever Felt This Way In A Meeting About Your Child?
“I've been to many special education meetings about my child, but I can't figure out why we are meeting again. It has been three years and my child still can't read, even though they keep telling me that this is the program he needs. They are saying something about my son not being entitled to a Cadillac, only to a Chevy. Don't they know all cars need gas to run?”

“My son has been suspended 5 times this year already and he's only seven. The school seems to think it is his fault, or my fault. What should I do?”

“I sat in that first meeting with my heart throbbing. There were at least a dozen people, most of whom I had never met, sitting on the other side of the table, telling me about my child's numbers. They kept smiling at me while they spoke ― mostly in what sounded like Greek. They gave me lots of papers and told me I should sign."

These are the types of issues we wanted to help parents such as yourself with, and why this e-book was written.

Think of this e-book as the Chilton's Manual of Individual Education Plans. Just as a Chilton's manual tells you everything you need to know about how to repair your car (even if is just the clutch you need to work on), our e-book covers a wide array of topics and issues related to IEP and special education needs.

This e-book Was Written to Help Parents Just Like You

Brandi Creason, Los Angeles, CA said:

"When you finally do get the confirmation that your 3 year old son is having a difficult time communicating and being understood, it is heartbreaking. Then you have to deal with the school.

I was overwhelmed and searched locally for help, but had little success. I called a friend 1000 miles away, and she gave me an advocate’s phone number. The advocate, Bev Jones, shared a ton of information, plus gave me a step-by-step plan of things to do to get the school district to listen, provide evaluations, and then give my son help. I decided to go to the meeting by myself to get the testing results. But I felt lost and outnumbered, and walked out crying. I called Bev again, and she suggested that I request another meeting; she would join by phone.

The next meeting was better, mostly because Bev was so helpful. She knew all the terminology and explained everything in detail. Suddenly, the team decided they needed an administrator to approve or deny the services we requested.

At the third meeting, which Bev attended by videoconference, we requested Extended School Year (ESY) therapy services. The district administrator stated that ESY was not a service that was provided in California. Bev politely read from the federal rulings regarding ESY and mentioned that any public school district nationwide that receives federal funds is subject to these rules. The administrator grew quite upset and stopped the meeting, saying that I would be notified of their decision later on. Bev told me not to worry and a week later, I received a call ― all the services were granted for the school year and the extended school year!

Since that time, I have learned much about being a good advocate for my child. Nonetheless, I have always had Bev attend the annual IEP meetings, either via teleconference or video conference.

My son is now in second grade and is doing grade level work with lots of help and services…thanks to an advocate!"

Ask the Advocates e-book is like having a personal advocate by your side, increasing your knowledge and confidence.

Can I Do It Myself, Or Do I Really Need Help From An Advocate?
Ask The Advocates e-book will get you through a number of the obstacles on your way to helping your child overcome his or her learning challenges. After all, child advocacy is not a mystery, and it is entirely possible for you to effectively advocate for your child. But often a special education advocate can save you time and get your child services that you don’t even know exist.

Here Are Some Of The Questions We Answer:
How, or who, do I ask for services when my child is struggling in school

If everyone thinks that my child needs help, what is the process

What can I do if the school won't test my child

How can I make IEP meetings more productive
Can the school hold meetings about my child without my being there
Who decides if a student should be placed in special ed & How
What is a reasonable timeline to get special ed services in place
How do I get the school to provide behavioral supports
What can the school do to help my child stay calm & focused

We answer these questions,
and many, many more just like them,
in our Ask The Advocates 80+ page e-book
covering both general IEP topics and very specific topics.

only $27

For example:

My son is 7 years old and has ADHD. His teacher says that she will have to hold him back if he does not start paying attention. I am so frustrated with her calling to tell me this. I know he has these issues, but his teacher believes he is purposely not paying attention. He had the same behavioral problems at a previous school, but the teacher said that he just needed some “one on one.” He passed there with flying colors! She said he was a wonderful student! Help please!

Here are some things to try. If you haven't already done so, ask your son’s doctor to write a letter stating that your son has ADHD and how this affects him. If the ADHD behaviors are getting in the way at school, as you discovered last year, your son probably needs extra help. Last year’s teacher was willing to provide this; this year’s teacher and this new school may be willing to do so with written documentation from the doctor.

Next, write a list of everything the previous teacher said your son needed to pay attention and to be more successful in school. Do not just write that he needed “one on one” help. Include what specifically the adult did during this “one on one” time which worked for your son; you may need to contact the previous teacher to find this out. The good news is that if your son was a wonderful student in the past, he can be again with the right help . . .

The complete answer to this question and many more can be found in the Ask The Advocates e-book.

The Ask The Advocates e-book is your insurance policy for your child's educational success.

Isn't It Time to Take Action And Get Your Child Onto The Right Track?
This e-book is like having many hours of discussion and advice from your advocate.

Susan Williams, Boulder, CO said:

"The difference between our son's first and second initial special education eligibility meetings was like night and day. At the first meeting, it was as if we walked into a time warp and had no idea what was going to happen. My gut feeling was that what they were saying about our child didn't totally make sense. We had no idea what the testing meant or what had to be done to help him. They kept telling us what we should do and insisting that we sign even though we had no idea what we were signing, and we didn't understand about his ability and his disability. I did some research on the internet, but I just couldn't learn it fast enough. It was a whole new field of study!

The advocate we found between the meetings, explained everything to us in language we could understand, analyzed the actual testing and the IEP (Individual Education Plan) document, asked questions, and offered solutions. We knew nothing about reading programs, but she convinced the school (we're still not sure quite how she did this) to use one of the major research-based reading programs to teach him. She gave us a plan to follow, got us accountability from the school, and got our son the instruction he needed. She also encouraged us to find a dyslexia specialist to help him outside of school. She is a walking encyclopedia and has given us so many resources!

We still bring her with us to meetings although we now feel like valued members of our son’s team; she can talk that same language the school folks do and gets things we (and sometimes the staff) hadn't even thought of into place. She helps to make sure everyone - teachers, tutors, therapists - and everything is coordinated. If snags occur, she knows who to call and gets a plan into action. Had we not found this wonderful advocate, no doubt our son would still not be able to read or do math. She is truly a godsend.”

We are sure you will find value in our e-book! As parents ourselves, we also understand the need to know you are getting what you paid for. That is why we offer a no questions asked, iron clad 60 day money back guarantee.

Synopsis
The reauthorized Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 is confusing to parents, educators, and even to most attorneys.

Ignorance of the law can be as damaging as the child’s disability.

What does the law say about Individualized Educational Programs (IEPs) and IEP teams? Transition plans? What does the law say about reviewing and revising IEPs? Multi-year IEPs? Who may be excused from IEP meetings and under what circumstances?

What does the law say about evaluations, reevaluations and parental consent? What does the law say about the use of discrepancy formulas and response to intervention to identify children with specific learning disabilities?

What are the requirements for highly qualified special education teachers? When do these requirements go into effect? How can special education teachers meet the highly qualified teacher requirements?

What does IDEA 2004 say about child find? Special education services to children who attend private schools and charter schools? What does the law say about inclusion, mainstreaming and least restrictive environment?

What are early intervening services? Who is eligible for early intervening services? Who is entitled to accommodations? Alternate assessments? Who makes these decisions?

What does the law say about independent educational evaluations? Parent access to education records? Mediation? Parent notice? Prior written notice? Due Process Complaint Notice?

What are the new requirements for due process hearings? Resolution sessions? Qualifications for hearing officers? Attorneys' fees?

What does IDEA 2004 say about discipline? Positive behavioral intervention plans? Interim alternative placements? Manifestation Review Hearings?

Wrightslaw: Special Education Law, 2nd Edition will help you find answers to your questions!

Advantages Of Ebooks (Education)

Gone are the days when you had to wait in line at the library or run to your nearest bookstore to read up on some information. Gone are the days where people had to wait to get their hands on a popular book (education book) or buy it at expensive rates. Today at the click of a mouse, a world of written content is available for you, right at your fingertips. All you need to do is enter the site, register and make easy online payment, which is double quick. Once that is done, you have access to download the book to any file on your system. Yes, it really is that easy! You can have your book within minutes, all from the comfort of your home at any time.

Apart from being ecologically friendly, ebooks are easy to carry around. To carry more than ten physical books would be a difficult task, but with ebooks you can carry hundreds on a CD. Physical books normally undergo wear and tear over time. They collect dust and can be destroyed easily. Ebooks are safely stored on an electronic devise so you can refer to it when you want to. Imagine if you want to find a particular section in a book with hundred pages. It would atleast take you fifteen minutes to turn all the pages and locate your information. An ebook allows you to ‘search’ for your data and gives you immediate results. Not only will it point out the section that you want but it can also give you more data by way of external links! Thus your resource can lead you to more updated information.

For those of you who love the feel of a physical book in your hands, there is a solution. An ebook can be printed in the font and format you desire. For those who prefer to have a book read to them, the option of converting it into audio is available. If you live far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, this is a perfect solution for you. Downloading a book does not require you to travel a long distance to acquire your material. This works well for students and researchers who don’t have time to spare.

If you have children in the house, it is almost certain that physical books get misplaced. An ebook cannot be accessed so easily at it lies within a system. With an ebook you can easily mark out portions and highlight sentences and you have the opportunity to remove highlights later. With a physical book, people prefer not to mark out sections, because it is irreversible and does not look good. Writing an ebook is also simple as collected data can be easily segregated into sections.
